Frequently Asked Questions
HOW TO USE BODYBEDS™
How should I use BODYBEDS™ when sleeping on my stomach?
BODYBEDS™ is designed to support prone (stomach) sleeping in a more ergonomic way.
Recommended setup:
Position your head over the face tunnel opening
Place a pillow on your upper torso/chest
Allow your hips and legs to relax naturally on the mattress
Placing a pillow on the torso while laying prone helps decompress the spine, reducing lower-back strain. This setup is especially beneficial for users with anterior pelvic tilt, as it encourages a more neutral pelvic position during sleep.
Should I use a pillow under my legs or ankles?
Yes. Placing a pillow under the shins or lower legs while prone can:
Reduce pressure on the ankles
Support healthier ankle alignment
Improve overall lower-body comfort during extended prone positions
This is particularly helpful for users with tight calves, ankle discomfort, or athletic wear-and-tear.
How should I use the arm tunnels safely?
The arm tunnels are designed primarily for comfort during waking activities, such as:
Reading
Writing
Phone or device use
Relaxed chest-down lounging
Meditation
While the tunnels reduce shoulder compression, keeping arms lowered for extended periods may contribute to temporary hand swelling or blood pooling in some users.
To promote comfort and circulation:
BODYBEDS™ includes elevated elbow support pads that sit under the mattress
These supports reduce the vertical drop from the heart to the hands
Usage guidance:
We recommend using the arm tunnels for up to 3 hours at a time, especially during lounging or reading. Many users prefer to use the tunnels for reading, writing, device use, and/or partner massage. This guidance reflects our commitment to responsible, body-aware design as further ergonomic studies are conducted.
How do side sleepers use BODYBEDS™?
Side sleepers can comfortably use BODYBEDS™ with a simple setup:
Place arm in one of the middle two arm tunnels if using the left middle tunnel use left arm and vice versa
Place a thin pillow between the face tunnels
Position your head in the space between the two face tunnels
This configuration helps keep the spine fully aligned from head to hips, while preserving shoulder comfort. Many side sleepers find this setup more stable than traditional mattresses.
How do back sleepers use BODYBEDS™?
For back sleeping:
Fully cover the tunnel openings with pillows
Use a standard pillow under your head
Optional pillow under the knees for lumbar comfort
In this setup, BODYBEDS™ functions like a traditional mattress with enhanced support.
Can I move and change positions at night?
Yes. BODYBEDS™ is not restrictive. You can freely shift between stomach, side, back, and lounging positions throughout the night.
